The Oregon Observatory is home of the new "The Oregon Science Store", which features astronomy, rocketry and nature related products. Our new online store is coming soon!
Buying a telescope can be intimidating. It's all too easy to end up with either a cheap, frustrating toy or a complicated, expensive instrument that's too hard to use. We can guide you through the process and set you up with a telescope that best fits you. Our astronomy shop has a complete line of telescopes and accessories from the best names in the business.
Because our store is part of the Oregon Observatory at Sunriver, you can come to the observatory and try before you buy. Every night we use the same products that we sell, so we can help you in ways a typical store can't. Compare optics & accessories. Learn what to look for in your first telescope. See the difference between a 8" dobsonian telescope and a computerized SCT. All telescope purchases include inspection by the observatory staff and instruction on how to use your new optics.
We carry hundreds of items that aren’t listed here including the full line of products from Tele Vue, Celestron, and Orion. Call us for our ultra-competitive prices at 541-598-4406. We use what we sell and are more than happy to give advice about your purchases. The observatory is staffed by experts in the field who are passionate about astronomy.
The rocketry shop is fully stocked with many products, and we attend all the major launches throughout the area. Everything from low-power to high-power rocket supplies are available.
Our prices are as low as the big mail order and online stores, but we offer far better service and packages to get you going faster. Plus, your purchase supports our educational programs.
