Welcome to the best-kept secret in Sunriver.
Sightseeing in Sunriver has never looked so good. With the help of our avid volunteers and staff you’ll gaze at incredible nebulae, binary stars, galaxies, planets and occasionally the moon.
This is a hands-on, family friendly experience. It's not uncommon for us to have ten telescopes set up for your use, from portable 8-inch telescopes, to our big 30-inch Newtonian. Often, amateur astronomers will bring their own equipment and join in the fun.
Unlike Planetariums, at the Observatory you'll see the real thing. Strict light pollution control in Sunriver lets us see deep sky objects that are washed out in most cities. Light that's been traveling for millions of years will end its journey when it enters your eye.
